Who Are Derbyshire CCC?
Founded in 1870, Derbyshire County Cricket Club has held first-class status since 1871 and produced and seen some of the finest players and coaches in the domestic game. Playing at the County Ground, Derby, the Derbyshire Falcons as they are known in List A and Twenty20 have a number of insightful and engaging cricket speakers that perform at events, dinners and presentation awards ceremonies across the UK.
Currently in Division Two of the County Championship, in their history the Derbyshire club has won a County Championship title, a Division Two County Championship title, the latest of their trophies along with three one day trophies. During a particularly fruitful couple of seasons at the club, the fantastic Dominic Cork was part of a team that won the Sunday League, C & G Trophy and the Benson & Hedges Trophy cementing their position as a major player in the domestic game.
What Is The Club's History?
With a rich history and a proud heritage, Derbyshire County Cricket Club have not only had legendary International cricketers, the club was the home of ICC Cricket Hall of Fame inductee, Michael Holding who during his work as a cricket speaker discusses the fond memories he enjoyed at the club along with expressing his views on the English domestic game. In more recent times, the county have played host to a number of high profile overseas players including the imperious and charismatic Hashim Amla.
The former South Africa captain and world class batsman is available to hire as a cricket speaker where his commitment, and discipline as a batsman are reflected upon at events along with the characteristics that have allowed him to be so consistent.
Having regularly performed and competed at a high level within the domestic game, the county have often been renowned for their tenacity and competitive edge, two traits that were totally encapsulated by former England and Derbyshire CCC all-rounder, Dominic Cork who instils motivation and inspiration into guests through his exceptional presentational skills that have developed throughout his tremendously successful punditry career. Arguably the most prominent and sought after Derbyshire CCC cricket speaker however is the irreplaceable Geoff Miller OBE.
The former England spinner is nothing short of a county legend and that in addition to his exploits as an England selector cement his stature within English cricket. Geoff is without doubt one of the best after dinner cricket speakers in the country regularly appearing at events and dinners to delight, inform and entertain guests with hilarious tales and anecdotes that have stood the test of time.
